Big Brother Rant

Well I have to say I hope Amber gets voted out on Thursday. Next week Jameka should go too. I am not a big religious person so when those two get together and just start praying and talking to God to help them get further in the game it drives me. It is kind of funny though when they do start praying and talking about God and the show plays church music in the background. And okay, pray if you want, for strength or whatever, to keep you sane while you are still in the house, but as if God has any control over who wins a reality tv show, and I don't think that would be on the top of his list either. I don't know. Maybe it's just me.

Here is Annika in her new room just after I finished moving her bed. She was so excited! Happier than a pig in you know what. We recently have added some new pictures on her walls. Next I would like to put up some kind of border along the upper part of the wall. All in time.

Well I finally got some pics developed. It only took a few months. Here are the girls when they turned 3 years old. I took these in the bush by our house. Erika is in pink/Annika in blue.

4 years!

Well yesterday started like any other day. Gave the girls their breakfast, get a cup of coffee, and sit down at the computer and check my email. There is this email from Crystal saying 'Happy Anniversary'. If anyone knows me well things tend to take a while to click in, so I am thinking "Happy Anniversary? Oh my god, what day is it?!" Sure enough, it's August 23rd. Ya, I admit it I totally forgot. It was written on my calendar but all week I have been looking past that day to Saturday when our Co-op bill was due and worrying about money, like anyone in this world. So ya, thanks Crys! I phoned Darren at work pronto and asked him what day it was. He knew. Damn!
So the girls and I went shopping to good ol Walmart for a few things for camping this weekend. We then went out for lunch at McDonalds. So that was my meal out. Last night we just ordered in a movie. Nothing too exciting.
We ordered The Number 23 with Jim Carrey. It was alright. I thought it would have been better. It gets you thinking about 23 though. Then it dawned on me while watching the movie and I said, "Oh my god. We are watching The Number 23 on the 23rd!" Too weird.

Retired

Well my dad is officially retired now! I am so happy for him! It's funny, whenever my mom tells someone that they ask right away, "Oh so are you going on a trip?" My parents are totally not like that. My dad just can't wait to spend as much time as he can at the cabin I think. He would live there if he could. He and his two brothers own a lakefront cabin at Pigeon Lake which has been in the family forever. It's just a quaint little cabin but what more do ya need? There are huge cabins (they could be houses) being built all around ours. I hate it.
Anyways, so mom is always saying, "I don't know what he is going to do with all this time now. But he is not going to stop me from going to Bingo." I told her she is going to have to start taking him with her. I think it would be weird to have your husband home all the time. I think she will be going to Bingo more often now.

One book done

Well, I did it! I finally finished 'The Nanny Diaries'. Darren was on holidays this past week so we went and spent the week at the cabin. Sooo relaxing! We were going to go to Jasper but decided it would cost way too much money. For us to spend 4 nights there it would cost us almost $200 just for the fee to be in the park per day and the camping. I think if you are camping in the park you shouldn't have to pay the stupid fee. Or give a percentage off at least. Sheesh.
Anyways, so I finished the book while having coffee one morning in the trailer. I thought it was alright. Some funny parts. And I can relate to how Nanny feels. Having spent a number of years working in a daycare I did feel sometimes that I took better care of some kids than their own parents did.
So anyways, I am now reading another book, from Tawnja again, called 'Lovely Bones' by Alice Sebold. It's about a girl that got murdered and she is telling her story from heaven, how she got murdered and such. So far it's pretty good. Thanks again Tawnj! Let's see how long it takes me to read this one.
